Proud Mama Moment.....

We had a busy day Saturday! First up was a early morning soccer
game! My five year old, Adison, had his first game!
As I watched through my lens, I was so proud to see his
determination for the game.....he is usally my little clown,
so this was a change to see him so serious.

Always stretch before the game!
Time to play... & with such determination.......

This is my God-daughter Nev...she & Adison are just 3 weeks
apart & they have been on the same baseball teams & now get to
play soccer together also! She did a good job too & made her
Mama proud :)

Time for a water break....

Now I must get back in the game!
Where did that ball go?

There you are! You are MINE!

Hey Kid! Kick it to me!

Little sister cheering him on!

Hahaha! I knew I'd get you!

Oh NO! Their on my coat-tails!

UGH! The other team scored!!!!

Coach Greg taught them good sportsmanship,
no matter who wins.

What's this? My baby girl(yellow) & my littlest God-daughter
are having their own soccer game!

After the game was over, I had two senior sessions,
simeoultaneously! Taylor & Adam were awesome!
Next I took the kids with my Mother-in-law, Sister-in-law & nieces
to the Pow-Wow. (They are part of the Pokagon Band of
Potowatomi indian Tribe.) We took the kids to look at the amazing
art, dancing, drum playing and of course....indian tacos!
After the Pow-Wow, my in-laws kept the kids, so my hubby
and I could have a date night! We went to dinner at the
Texas Steakhouse & rented What Happens in Vegas....
just as our movie was ending, my Mother-in-law said
Adison told her to call to tell us our date was over
and it was time to pick them up.
He also wanted to remind us that he is not
a good "spender-nighter." :)
I had a great day & will share more Pow-Wow & Senior pics later!

Please meet Miss "E"

Miss "E" was just 6 days old when I went to photograph her.
She was such a good little girl and belongs to a very good friend of
mine. I think she already has Mom & Dad wrapped around her
tiny little finger.....Can you guess why? Wow, just stunning!

What is going on?

Well, just in case you were trying to access my blog over the
weekend, it was down! I was so frustrated, as I wanted to
post some pics! Apparently, my visitor counter was the
culprit that was causing the problem. I ended up finding
out a way to delete it and just as I did, the problem was
fixed! I was sooooo bummed about it because I had been
tracking my visitors since October and was reaching a
good number....now it will start from square one if I reload!
UGH!

I had a pretty low-key weekend, which was nice for a
change! Yesterday however, I left to run my niece home
and while I was gone I missed a call from one of our local
hospitals....the note said to call back about pictures.....
I immediately felt a pit in my stomach. When I returned
the call, the voice on the other line answered, "NICU," can
I help you?" Yep, it was going to be my first NILMDTS
assignment. After speaking with the nurse, I knew it was
critical that I get to the hospital as soon as possible.
My sister-in-law and I had planned on taking our kids to
our Aunt's house to swim, so Vanessa said she would take
them and I could meet up with them afterwards.

Seeing "D," brought back so many memories of my nephew,
Gabereal, as I had taken his photos also. It certainly was not
an easy task for me to do again, but somehow, I developed an
overwhelming calmness and was able to capture the images I
new his Mama would want to have forever. I was able to comfort
her also and connect with the way that she was feeling.

I will admit it was tough to keep myself composed while she held
him and cried....I felt her pain, I knew. I gave her a hug afterwards
and when I left the room, I took a deep breath and my eyes welled
up with tears....The nurse gave me a hug and said she did not know
how I could get through that. I think knowing that I could do
something to help other families that are going through what we
went through, gave me the strength.

Although the nurse was very sweet, I joked with her during our
goodbyes and told her I hoped we would not see one another often :)
