Great Kids, Great Cause!

I had the opportunity to photograph some kids who are very dear to my heart. Not because I know each of them personally, but because I share in their daily hopes that a cure for Juvenile Diabetes will be found in their lifetime. I hope each of you knows how hard we are all trying to do just that, we know you are counting on us!

My oldest, Ally, was diagnosed at 18 months and cannot remember her life without the daily pokes and dietary monitoring. Although, diabetes can be "managed" with insulin injections, it is certainly not a cure and does not promise a life without complications of the disease.

This year, our chairman, Brandon Segal, from National City Bank, gave each of the kids a mini soccer ball. The kids all had fun with them before starting our session. Thanks Brandon!

Here are some of the faces of the kids we are committed to finding a cure for..

This is my oldest....

This little guy decided he didn't want to be in the group pic, but he did let me take a pic of him and his puppy...

Here's the whole gang, minus little guy above.

Hole-In-One!

Our son, Adison just turned five on Mother's Day!
We tried to celebrate his "special day," which is when we take
only him to spend the day doing what he had planned.
Unfortunately, he was sick so we had to spend the day at home.
I ended up taking Monday off and we celebrated by
going to Toy's R US, Burger King and playing
miniature Golf at Hacker's! Thanks PJ!
Here, he just whacked the ball!

Oops, went into the bushes....

Let's try again with Dad giving pointers...

Oops, off the course a bit,
thanks for the pointers Dad.

Trying to get the hole-in-one...
Ahhh.....persistence pays off!
(That's MY pink ball next to Adison's...
notice where Dad's ball is)
Sweet Victory!

Waiting for Dad to catch up...

Back on Track?

Well, I decided yesterday that I would start up Weight Watcher's again in hopes of shagging these last six pounds. Breakfast: Egg Beaters with salsa & cheese, three slices of bacon, coffee. Feeling pretty proud of myself. Next up lunch: 6-inch chicken breast sandwhich, Baked BBQ chips.....and then I let my prego friend convince me that I needed a heath blizzard from DQ. UGH!!!! I only ate 1/2, but nonetheless, I fell off the WW wagon. Anyway, dinner came along and I had my husband cook orange roughy in a Lemon Garlic Steamer bag with rice.....when I got home, there were three plates of it on the table with scattered fish pieces all around and no kids in sight. I tracked the little Lovebugs down and told them to finish up. They fought me, but Caiden ended up eating all of his...God love him...Adison & Kendall wouldn't compromise at ALL. I told them NO snacks at the ballpark unless you eat dinner......then I had a bite.....let me just say God Bless Caiden's little heart again....and again for eating that.....it tasted like something off of Fear Factor! No offense Honey, it's not your fault..I know you tried, and it's not as if you caught the fish yourself and made up this recipe or something. My oldest, Ally, saw my face and decided beefaroni was on the top of her list, gotta love Chefboyrdee(sp?) Needless to say, I ate nachos and cheese at the ballpark...I am sure it totaled a days worth of ww points easily.

Oh well, I started fresh today......Breakfast: 6-inch chicken breast on Wheat. Lunch: chicken-salad pita pocket with crumbled bacon and a pinch of cheese...lowfat yogurt and 6-wheat pretzels.....Afternoon snack: Skinny Cow ice cream sandwhich....give me a break, they are like only 140 calories...so what if I ate two?! Not really. :) After work I did 40 minutes of cardio, 20 min of abs/arms & 15 min. in the sauna! Surely, I sweated off the blizzard & nachos? Heck I'm probably ahead...I am confident that I have calorie-Credit now.
Dinner: Cream of chicken with rice.....and dessert, TACO Doritos?
UGH...what is wrong with me? Another WW wagon-fall. :(

On the farm....

This is my niece, "S." Isn't she gorgeous?

She came home from her Grandma's and when she got
out of the car and saw her Aunt Lori, she did this....

Not really...She saw the kids.

Anyway, "S" has a lot of cool animals at her house...

so, three of my kid's & two of my God-Daughter's

spent some time visiting...

These little piggies cried wee-wee-wee
all the way home!

Please don't bite me, please don't bite me...

This is the newest addition to the "H" family....
Only 8 days old!

After visiting the animals, the kids decided
to have a jumping contest....

So, finally I told them it was time to go....

First the disbelief.....
What'd she say?

Then the rebellion......I'll shoot your mouth with
a slingshot if you EVER talk like that again!

Then, the denial...I know you didn't say that....

Finally, the last trick in the bag.....

PLEASE don't make us go!

Meet Sienna

I was very blessed to photograph a long-time friend of mine's
first baby, Sienna. When I arrived, "C" told me this, "It's
amazing, each day I love her so much more than the day before..
and I don't even know how that's possible."
What a sweet thing to hear.......I know what she means.....
I have four of them & this type of behaviour is very addicting.
